At a certain point during political discourse, we must all take a step back and stop fighting each other and consider who the real enemy is.
After his disastrous press conference during the Russia Summit, Donald Trump showed all Americans his true colours. But what is worse is his clean-up after the fact, it is almost laughable the Trump administration got together and devised a plan to stop the bleeding and what they concluded was it would be better to just tell Americans there was no bleeding at all instead of actually doing something.
Trump said he had misspoken on Monday and had meant to say he saw no reason why it was not Russia that meddled.
Mr Trump said he had reviewed the transcript and realised he needed to clarify.
“In a key sentence in my remarks, I said the word ‘would’ instead of ‘wouldn’t,” he said.
“The sentence should have been: ‘I don’t see any reason why I wouldn’t’ or ‘why it wouldn’t be Russia’. Sort of a double negative.”
The US president added: “I accept our intelligence community’s conclusion that Russia’s meddling in the 2016 election took place. Could be other people also. A lot of people out there.”
It’s not the lie that’s the problem, we’ve come to expect as much from politicians. The problem is that Trump believes the American public are idiots, his attempt to divert our attention during his original remarks when he went to a nonsensical tirade against Hillary Clinton proves this.
Americans you can no longer accept this, regardless of where you political allegiances lie, do not allow the politicians to lie so brazenly in your faces, it’s a sign they don’t care about you.
If you are a Trump supporter instead of going around acting as an unpaid member of his pr team, why don’t you take your president to task over his actions. I understand a majority of Americans never falter in their support of Trump because of his stance on immigration but please understand immigration is just one aspect of the job.
Remember the King in his ivory tower watches destruction being wrecked below him whilst he shouts words of encouragement.
