We all know Donald Trump is the most Hollywood president to ever take the office, after offending Europe’s major leaders, his own intelligence services and cuddling up to America’s ideological enemy. Trump has now began work on a sequel to the semi-successful Dinner For Schmucks film.
If you haven’t watched the film, it has a simple premise:
Tim (Paul Rudd) a rising executive, works for a boss who hosts a monthly event in which the guest who brings the biggest buffoon gets a career boost. Though he declines the invitation at first, he changes his mind when he meets Barry (Steve Carell), a man who builds dioramas using stuffed mice. The scheme backfires when Barry’s blundering good intentions send Tim’s life into a downward spiral, threatening a major business deal and possibly scuttling Tim’s romantic relationship.
I’m not going to change the films original description a little to include Trump and Putin as a characters:
Vlad (Sacha Baron Cohen) is the president of Urineasia, as part of the ’69’ a group of the worlds most successful countries which host a monthly event in which the guest who brings the biggest buffoon gets an ego boost(and lower tarrifs). Though he declines the invitation at first, he changes his mind when he meets Drumpf (Alec Baldwin), a man who on his presidential campaign had footage leak of him saying he gropes women. The scheme backfires when Drumpf’s blundering speeches and policies of imprisoning children send Vlad’s life into a downward spiral, threatening a major trade deals and possibly scuttling Vlad’s image as the world’s number one supervillain.
I know everyone says Trump’s presidency seems like something out of a film but we can all agree the past week Trump has been overtly been pitching the Dinner For Schmucks sequel. If you like the concept of the film let us know and we might make our version.
