Yacht Of The Week: Cloudbreaker.
The story of how this yacht came to be developed is one yacht aficionados have heard plenty of times. A man with plenty of money to spare , sets out to find a yacht that suits all his needs, but to his dismay there are no yacht on the market that suit his needs so he develops his own.
The yacht owes her name to a wave in Fiji that daring surfers rank among their favourites. And it’s very apt.
“Cloudbreak is for an outdoorsman and a lover of nature,” says the yacht’s Norwegian-born designer Espen Øino
The owner as you have guessed is you, he names skiing and surfing as his passion, this yacht is built for the ultimate comfort after a day spent in the cold skiing. A soothing sauna, massage room and chilled plunge pool provide relaxation after facing the biting cold in the mountains.
The yacht is also party ready, an immersive speaker and light system can transform the yacht into one of the best clubs in the sea. California Audio Technology provided and installed the marine-grade speakers and woofers scattered through Cloudbreak’s decks.
Cloudbreaker’s tough masculine exterior is a juxtaposition of it’s warm, welcoming interior. The interior is the work of famed interior designer Christian Liaigre, this is the Frech architect\ designer’s fifth yacht contribution.
“The owner is going to use Cloudbreak often in areas where the weather can be extreme, so it was very important to create a welcoming ambience,” says Rolland. “[He] also didn’t want a dark environment. These were the guidelines that we used to create a comforting colour palette.”
Cloubreaker’s first mission will be a circumnavigation of the globe.
